I believe that was done intentionally. Most of the old school big luxury cars had the same look going on. Rolls Royce still uses that design ethos.

i have a feeling the exterior changes to the s-class are much more extensive with few parts carryover. i think (but don't know) the new s-class is similar to the old one in the way that a new gen 911 is similar to a prior one but actually shares no panel parts.

like the proportions. Only thing I can't get over are the center a/c vents. They look like something you'd find buried with the Titanic.
Front looks distinctive, but alien.

This will sell just fine.

Looks a bit busy to me, but certainly better than the current model, which IMHO is tacky.

Such a pretty car. MB did a good job of retaining family resemblance as well (look at the CLA's headlight cluster/GLK taillights). In the pblack icture posted by pman, the car actually looks really stubby compared to the outgoing model. Maybe it is just a picture dimension thing..

And heated armrests! Everything in the interior must be heated! Heated floors/cielings for the barefoot /bald passenger will be waiting for us in the future.

Looks like what they did was clean up the out going model's exterior design. It works and i definitely like it. Im not too big on the interior especially the air vents. Nevertheless, the bar has been set again for the LS. Now lets surpass it.

omg what a fantastic video, and a fantastic car.
it's obvious from watching that this new s-class is no 'refresh' of the prior one. it looks so much more athletic and refined.

Exterior design is nice...it's a giant E class in the front.

Interior-to me, that steering wheel is hideous and those center vents
