I'm happy to hear that the biggest complaint about the Corolla is "wheel gap."

The car will surely sell hundreds of thousands, if not millions, easily.

The "black mouth" is really the only negative on the new Corolla. They should have made that horizontal bar at bumper level body colored instead. Nothing that a quick trip to the body shop and $200 wouldn't fix.

I don't understand the point of "S" trim for this model. Less power than LE Eco and no body kit. The only reason to go S over LE Eco for me is the option for 6-speed MT. That's only because LE Eco come only in CVT (I believe).

HAHA! Vossens on a Corolla! Those wheels would be 1/3 of the cost of the car.

A whole lot of CL members have wheels that are 1/3rd the cost of their cars...

if you look at the two demographic that Toyco targets for the Corolla, the 2 tier engine models (base vs. Eco) makes sense. Keep the old outdated powertrain to keep the price low (the ONLY reason why it's selling so well in its present gen), but have a more sophisticated model for those that can afford it, while being competitive with the competition...Overall, better than I expected, but then again I would never buy one for myself....

Even on the lowest trims? They're giving a 20% discount?

It actually is body color on the non-S trim package.

EDIT: Fuark, the lowered S on Vossen's looks sick, however I don't think that will ever happen or even be able to fit them lol

Every pictures in this thread shows that bar being black. I saw the lower lip vary between black and body color, but that center bar is definitely black in all the pictures.

it is very black... it would look dead ugly in color... the point of bar is to have it black so it looks sporty with big gap. If they wanted to color code it, they would make it regular bumper like old corolla, without any bars.

I'm shocked that North America is receiving a model which looks better than the model available in other world markets.

So far it looks like the most attractive Corolla inside and out ever though it does not have the traditional Corolla styling and looks like a different model now. I like that interior design more then the Camry's or several larger more expensive Toyota models. Engines/transmissions are not all that impressive but will satisfy their audience. They could probably make a coupe version of this design and sell a decent amount.

yeah, outside of US, Corolla is either luxury vehicle (Asia), or for older people (Europe)... hence the difference.

I also agree with udel - it would look great like coupe and looks like they made it so they can make coupe easily... heck, it looks a lot like Scion tC to me...
