BMW 3 Series M Sport versus 2014 Lexus IS F Sport

I dunno ...... I'll have to wait to see the IS in person and drive it. Not convinced with the rear.
Actually it's very close in profile to the current model.
I'd rather wait for the coupe (if it is coming) but at this point i'd maybe swing towards the 3 (but rather the 4 coupe as well )

The sport models may be close in sales, but I will bet the IS will not touch the "industry standard" in sales. This is a fiercely competitive segment that the 3-series owns, much like Lexus owns a segment with its RX350.

Yeah, you will always get these type of comparisons.. but i'm waiting for some real world pictures before really stating any more opinions.
Hoovey, btw is your IS still setup like that pic? It's badass!!

Sadly that huge arc going from the center console to the center stack on the IS is a non-starter for me. Consumes tons of knee space and I've never fit well into any car with that type of setup. The BMW F30 leaves this space open which is how I fit into their cars so great. Still looking forward to seeing what the next Infiniti G (or is it a "Q" now??) is going to turn out.

I absolutely love the looks of the center stack...looks high tech and new not BORING.
also -- BMW shifter is horrible...IS kills it
Gauge cluster is no comparison...BMW from 1972.
lastly, I HATE pop-up NAV screens (even on the CT).

I think its a good idea, out of all the sedan models, the IS is the one that should be adventurous. Good job Lexus!

from what i came up with without driving either car:
performance: 335i m-sport (MT mentioned the I6 turbo was seriously underrated, it's really close to 320hp and 350lb-ft)
handling: IS350 f-sport (MT ranked 335i m-sport last in recent issue behind ATS 3.6 and MB C350 sport, siting handling was the main reason). from the raving review of the outstanding suspension on the 4GS, I can see IS350 takes the trophy in this department
exterior styling: small edge to IS350 (BMW is just too conservative, Lexus would easily take this category if not for the weird looking taillights)
interior styling: big edge to the new IS350
