The Joey Chitwood shows have been doing 2-wheelies (among other stunts) for decades, even with SUVs....but, in all fairness, I don't recall them having actual races like that.

Especially back then. Those old recirculating-ball steering units in the early Joey-Chitwood days, especially without power-assist and quicker-ratios), had a lot of slop and free-play in the wheel as they aged.....and one could not steer with much precision. Today's rack-and-pinion units give you much better control.

It reminds me of the Midnight Club games since you could drive on two wheels like that.
