3 series and Accord are on it every year so they should just call it the other 8 best or something lol
Man they are straight up retarded putting the Ford Focus on that 10 best list. The automatic tranny in those cars is a complete and utter dog. Shifts are very clunky and there has been more than one recall on that tranny. Of course the manual tranny cars drive great, but you know 90% of people buy the automatic, so why recommend a car that simply doesn't work for 90% of the people.

C&D, like other enthusiast magazines, generally prefers a conventional three-pedal manual, even though most auto buyers generally go for the automatic. So they rate the 10 Best cars in their own view, not necessarily the public's, though, of course, the Audis on the list are not available with American-market manual transmissions.

Honda Fit? The larger Civic and waay larger Accord get better MPG.
and Miata MX-5??? at one time, definitely...but not now.
The Miata, though small, light, nimble, and relatively low-powered, is sport-oriented and generally not designed to get outstanding mileage. Its gearing, with all of the transmissions (5MT, 6MT, 6AT) tends to be on the short side, pumping up engine RPM and noise. That's why all three transmissions get virtually the same MPG........21 or 22 City, 28 Highway.
^^ Yup, my 5MT Miata gets me about 26 MPG (about 60% freeway). At freeway cruise speeds, my RPM is around 4k. Not exactly the most fuel efficient car, but it's still pretty decent for a sports car. I'm surprised to see the MX-5 on the list, seeing that the NC model has been around since 2005 (2006 MY).
