For freeway-cruising, I would agree with you, but, in general, that's not the car's forte........Miatas are tiring and uncomfortable for long-distance runs for other reasons as well. I think the main idea behind the Miata's 6MT vs. the 5MT is simply to get closer ratios for less of an RPM-drop between shifts, not to make it a boulevard-cruiser.
