Now every blog site/website is claiming they found them (except one site) all of sudden.

 

Not as interested in the hp as I am the interior. Going to be mind blowing I have a feeling.

Bummer, I thought I was going to be able to see the interior sooner than late tonight. I think the exterior looks really good but I am really interested in the interior and what interior color options are available. I also hope they up the hp on this car. I agree that 380hp is a lot but when your competitors have higher hp, they should try to at least match that, especially for a flagship.

I think they might be saving that for the REAL new next generation LS, this one is a facelift which they did just so they can put some space between introducing new Lexus models ......

Thanks for pointing that out! I hadn't updated my "Garage" for a while. It's now current with all three of our cars (2009 LS460, Infiniti FX50, & Chevy Volt).

I got rid of the 2011 M56 and got a Volt for my daughter. I was considering instead getting rid of the 2009 LS, but it was just so much more refined than the M56, even if the LS lacks many of the advanced tech from the M. Also, I figured I could replace the LS later this year when the 2013 refresh came out.

My neighbor, who got an M56 around the same time I did, loves pointing out that his car is $15,000 less than my LS and 1 second (or more) faster off the line. He's obviously rubbing it in because I traded mine away for an electric car. I was hoping to show him the error of his ways when the 2013 LS came out, but alas it looks like Lexus is content to let Hyundai, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW have faster cars - and in most cases less expensive cars.

When I drive a BWM 550i, MB E550, or Hyundai Equus, they always seem so much more powerful and assured than the LS, yet the comfort and refinement are still there. (The M56 is an unrefined and inconsistent beast with serious power.) But none of those cars cost as much as the LS460 (although the BMW and MB can get up there if you add all the extras).

If Lexus isn't improving the ancient engine for their "new" LS, I sure hope there's a lot of updated tech, safety, and refinement to make up for it. Because I'm not going to replace my 2009 LS just because the 2013 model is prettier.
