Fourth gen (2016) Toyota Prius
Toyota tried to push the envelope on styling and they pushed too hard. You can go futuristic and remain tasteful but in this case the lines are just too wacky. Definitely won't age as well as the 3rd gen.
BTW, those are going to be some expensive fender benders!

But yeah, the people that were buying Prius's before won't shy from this one.
I can only hope that all those crazy lines actually serve to enhance aerodynamics. But then again the CLA has proven that you don't need to go crazy on the shape and lines in order to achieve a record-breaking drag coefficient of 0.22.

I like it the styling and I can see how it kind of lines up with the Murai. What I really hope Toyota does is get rid of the center speedo. Or perhaps have a second dash option where you can choose.
it is not just about cd, you also have to reduce frontal area as much as possible. Looking over some euro comparos between A3 and CLA, not everything is in stats either - A3 Sedan gets better consumption numbers even if it has 0.29cd vs 0.22cd.
I like the look of the new Prius. However, it looks a bit too aggressive for what it is.
I think this 0.22 claim is a bit of a marketing stretch.
C&D had a very good article on aerodynamics of modern cars and found out in reality it is more like 0.30. Compared to 0.26 of a Prius and 0.24 of a Tesla Model S.
