Interesting, no more wheel covers for any Accord. New "White Orchid Pearl" color sounds interesting. Those V6 mpg numbers are damn impressive. That is definitely having your cake and eating it too. Typical Honda stingy offerings with some options (must get high-end EX for rear LED's), etc. Still no mention of manumatic shifting with the automatic. I'm fearing they've omitted this, which is a travesty by 2013.

 

Sport gets paddle shifters it seems.

I rather like the new Accord. I don't like Honda however. This looks 100 times better than the old 5-series ripoff of an Accord and it looks much better than the standard Camry and bloated looking Altima and Malibu. The V6 sounds like the best deal.

 

There is still no mention of the length and wheelbase huh. I wish it is shorter than 191".

WOW, looks like Honda FINALLY woke up and made some good changes after more then a decade of stagnation, is great to see some progress!!

I honestly stopped paying attention to Honda for a long time now since it is always the same thing every year and continues to be lame. This new Accord make them pretty much caught up with the competitions

I wouldnt get too excited. Honda still has a bunch of cars that need major help.

 

According to the photos, it appears they still aren't including auto up/down on any of the passenger windows. Wow, does Honda not have the ability to feel embarassed? This is where arrogance upsets me and drives me away from looking at cars like this.

Russian-market Honda Accord to share sheetmetal with U.S. model

We noticed something interesting about the design sketches of the Russian-spec 2013 Accord Honda showed off at the Moscow International Motor Show recently. Aside from the license plate getting swapped from a California tag to a German one, the renderings were identical to the early drawings of the U.S.-spec model Honda showed off during its press presentation for the 2013 Accord.

This is of note because Russian Honda dealers have typically supplied their buyers with Euro-spec Accord models (think Acura TSX). Honda has now confirmed our suspicions that the Russian Accord will be replaced with a version based on the U.S.-spec model. It's also worth noting that Acura is reportedly heading to Russia in 2014.

"We haven't announced plans for Europe," said Chris Martin with Honda public relations, "but the Ruissian model will share sheetmetal and basic design with the U.S. model."

Martin made it clear that there will, of course, be some market differences, but that by and large, the two models will be the same. Honda hasn't said which engine options will show up on the Russian order sheet as of yet.

And what of Europe? Given the German plate on these sketches and the fact that Russia is officially getting the same model as the North American market, we would wager there's a good chance that Honda will grace the EU with the same machine. Stay tuned.

this accord design would not fly in europe
