The wheels are horrible, the dull gold/tan color does no car justice, why would they choose that awful color to showcase their concept. Styling looks decent from most angles, good from a few, and not very good from a few, much better then the current one. The black one in motion looks nice but it is hard to tell exactly how big it is. It looks like a pretty big car from the pics but they are saying it is roughly the size of the current RL. Overall about what I was expecting, they are not going to be taking any chances with the styling after how the 4th Gen TL was received.

The technology is very impressive. Over 370hp from the hybrid SH-AWD system and a 7 speed DSG should be nice. Base fwd version having 310hp is surprising, sounds like too much power for front wheels, hopefully suspension technology and rear wheel steering/toe in will help solve torque steer issues. I would like to see more pics of the interior, front dash does not look as nice as the current one, definitely more high tech. Dual screens is cool.

I will reserve final judgment until I see it in person and test drive it.

Wait a second, is that the actual car or is that just a concept?

Concept cars are supposed to be cutting edge (usually) overly aggressive, only to be toned down for the production car. This car looks looks incredibly bland and boxy for production car standards, and it's only a concept?

Hardly anyone likes it, only the most blind or loyal fans. Like most said, it does not look like a car that will debut in 2013 as a 2014 model. They simply have no idea how to style a car.

Look at how massive the front end is here and its a concept without larger bumpers for safety. Its like a SUV. They literally somehow mixed a ILX, GS,Accord, Kia, 7 series tails and where Hyundai got it right with the Genesis blending cars, this is horrid. Like the last 2 RLs this simply does not look like a 50-65k car, the price it will be likely asking.

Once again what looks like great tech in the Hybrid will be masked by a horrible bland body with a beak. Just like 2005 when SH-AWD debuted wrapped in an Accord.

By continuing to be FWD Accord based it simply limits what they can do for this model. Adding an X to the name isn't going to help.

Acura may not be around long enough for the NSX to return

I just checked the sentiment over at acurazine and it seems like even the blindest of Acura homers can't stand how this RLX concept looks.

Most people have gone from "this car is incredibly disappointing" to "hey guys it's just a concept, Acura still has time to change it for final production and make it look presentable!"

The front end is "meh." It's not offensive.

The tail lights are awful. The BMW 5 series and new Lexus ES are terrific examples of how to properly design aggressive but elegant, modern tail lights.

This RLX concept does not look good from every angle. Some angles are less offensive than others. I think the tail lights are just deal breaker.

Hey man I don't know what you're talking about, the "X" makes the car X-TREEEEEEEEME. Who wouldn't want to buy it?

And whats even crazier is they had since 2005 to get this right. The RL is the oldest car in class, they saw what everyone else did. In damn near a decade they couldn't figure things out?

Forget the competition, forget the customers, we know what's right ... it's the Honda way .

Good point. How is acura going to have any money to design the nsx, borrow from their sister honda?

Is honda even profitable enough to lose money on the nsx?

That's another good point. This isn't Toyota and the LFA...

So they finally have DI, a 3.5 V-6 years after everyone else and it makes a whooping 4 more hp than the old Lexus 3.5 from 2005 and this car debuts next year in 2013. Egads.

The RL will be FWD, most sold FWD. It seems to have rear stear/toe control.

The hybrid tech seems cool, AWD with 30 MPG and 370hp. Nicely done! Glad they followed Lexus GSh.

Sadly who is going to pay the 50-60k or whatever for this? They haven't learned anything. The Exterior is like a said a cross of the GS and like 12 other cars. Interior is like a Honda Pilot but nicer.

Who is going to buy this over the 5 series, GS, A6, E-class etc especially when its a Honda Legend everywhere but here. They needed a grand slam home run not another "MEH".

How can they miss 3 times in a row since 1996? How is that possible? How can the 2G RL debut before the GS/M and then after the GS/M and be completely underwhelming.

Pack it up, go home. A shame and sad
great post! cliff notes: great tech, lame body, fail.

actually i wouldn't mind this to be the next TL, but for RL it is lacking some of the design element.

the technology is nothing short of amazing. i know most of you folks skip it, but it has SH-AWD, 370 HP, and mileage is "at least 30 on the highway and in the city"

simply put, there is no car that i can think of that has 370 HP, or 4WD, that is rated 30/30/30, let alone the combination of the two plus SH-AWD. if this is not innovation, i don't know what is.
