It's a newer trend for the auto media and auto manufacturers to call something all new (redesign) when it's just a facelift. This goes hand in hand with mainstream yellow journalism, shock value, and click bate. All crap we've been fed by the media, which has sadly rubbed off in the auto industry.

 

Yes, I often see this as happening and know better when I follow Lexus and Mercedes mostly. However, I dont really know much about Acura's lineup and how long the current RLX has been in existence. I thought maybe they would do a bigger overhaul since it sells so poorly.
