Quote: I used a two LED flank for the wife's CR-V and it's fine.
That;s way too many LEDs.
Try 2 LEDs flanks or maybe a 4 LED.I have the 4 LEDs flanks in my side mirror puddles and they may even be too bright for your application. At least with my taste anyway.
Different LED chips have different luminocity and power draw. You can have a single LED such as the latest Cree XM-L that will easily outbright 24 less powerful chips.

But for something like a license plate light, its better to have as many less powerful leds as possible, to spread the light more evenly, instead of having two overbright spots.

A lot of bulbs I used from VLEDs were 1/2 watt per LED and the LEDs were larger than Bagwells boards.I would think his 24 LED board should be brighter than say 2 even 4 LEDs bulb at 1/2 watt each LED.

If your vehicle uses a 194/168 bulb for the license plate lights then go with either the Putco 194 high power LED bulbs or the Philips W5W T10 LED bulbs

While I like bright lights, the license plate is dimmer the better. LOL
