How to replace license plate light ?

the stock LED license plate bulbs on the 2is are some of the best and brightest bulbs around (aftermarket included) I'm surprised you'd want to change them, but I'd assume you just peel back the carpet and turn counterclockwise..

It's not a 168 bulb.. I tried replacing them once but when I took the carpet apart I notice the lights are in a small rectangle box. With a led inside. My buddy changed his out but he opened the box up and solder his new led in
