So LexsCTJill is a girl? I guess is Jill huh.
If she think that, so she bought a CT purely for the badge?
I have driven enough ES and Camry back to back to know when they rebadge a Toyota as a Lexus, they do a tons of refinement upgrades. even though the basic hardwares are mostly the same.
This is classic. Why are you getting so worked up? Just ignore her.
Dude, $60k in 1990 was A LOT of money.

Now you are telling us all the $375,000, V-10, Carbon Fiber, Greatest car ever from Asia, universally praised by critics and experts that is is an exotic, one of the greatest ever made is on part with the GT-R, GT 500, Corvettes. You state this b/c Lexus lacks the badge and other claims that Papa Smurf laughs at.
Now you tell us the Honda NSX, rebadged as an Acura here, V-6, 60k in 1990 from a brand with a worse heritage and history of excellence is an exotic.
This is golden.

Hmmm, a girl that calls guys dude.
FYI Papa Smurf doesn't exist like an NSX isn't an exotic.
Anyone that thinks the NSX is an exotic yet the LFA which costs 6 times as much, with 4 more cylinders, in carbon fiber with an interior that is arguably best in class that sounds like an F1 supercar that laps the RIng in 7:14 compared to 8:14+ really needs to take an elementary course in the automobile starting with the late 1880s.
THis is not a diss on the NSX< everyone knows I love it. To come on a Lexus forum and state these things about the LFA with LFA owners is preposterous.
Going to send this to Roy so he can get a good laugh next time around.

The reason I bashed the LFA before is, if I am spending $400k on a car, I seriously would need to have an Euro badge

Also a bunch of cars owns by Sultan of Brunei are coachbuild one-off, they are definitely not production model.
The one single handedly most exotic modern car in the world is the P4/5, which sure is not a production model, well it was based off a production Enzo, but then is coachbuild everything else.
The most exotic exotic car in the world are all not production models, that's what make them exotic. Is all about the rarity and exclusivity. It is only best when is one of one, or one of five.............etc. So if you only count production exotic, you mean you only count the low rent normal exotic that depreciate like crazy in the 1st 10 years.
I am just pulling your leg bro, just saying what you are doing would take forever.
Happy holidays

Looks like we never did come to a consensus of what is or isn't an exotic. We agree on a few that are and disagree on a few that may be exotic to some.
In the end, without an official set of standards, this is another subjective issue in the vein of to each his own.
Before this thread I took it for granted all Ferrari's were exotic. Now I don't think that.
Since no car is completely hand made anymore, is any car exotic? That used to be a criteria for exotic-ness.
In the end it doesn't matter much. We are fortunate there are so many choices for every desire.

wow, I kind of ignored this thread for a hwile b/c it can go in circles which it is
We have this discussion over on nsxprime also about the NSX.
I agree it's an "exotic", but it's no "supercar"
how about this:
sports car--> exotic ---> supercar (mother of all category)
if that doesn't work, then I'm going off topic and relate back to the "hot" vs. "pretty" vs. "beautiful"
girl thread we had back then
