Default Lexus files for IS300h trademark...

Looks like Lexus has registered for the IS300h trademark in Australia.

Makes me wonder if the US will ever get a hybrid IS =]

I doubt it. Wouldn't it hinder CT sales?

sometimes manufacturers apply for trademarks to throw competitors off the track
im guessing this is one of those as well
unless lexus is really really serious about making a hybrid version of all of their line-ups

The 3-series ActiveHybrid is sporting a 300hp turbo 3.0L I-6 and a 55hp electric motor so I guess the IS300h is meant to focus on efficiency rather than power. Good move, but an IS450h would be awesome too.

Lexus/Toyota stated most vehicles will have a hybrid option by 2020 I believe...just part of the big plan.

This could be very nice...a small V6 or larger-displacement 4cylinder hybrid in the IS would be a huge winner!

i wonder if it will be 4cly engine still, just differentiated from Camry by 10hp-20hp.

Camry Hybrid is soo good with its power and weight, that it will make Lexus look bad with same powertrain :-)

Keep in mind some of that extra weight is from amenities you won't find on a Camry
