I've driven the coupe extensively and the sound is PLENTY good for me!

Now another friend who has a white 458 with full Fabspeed pipes does sound amazing but there is a noticeable increase in volume which is great if you want to attract attention but I think the car already does that plenty well in stock form

Default Another Excuse to Show You Ferrari’s 458 Speciale, this Time via EVO

Here it is, yet another review of the stunning new Ferrari 458 Speciale, a car that, if we are to believe all the other reviews we’ve posted, deserves its name in spades.

This EVO review doesn’t really tell us anything that we didn’t already know about the Speciale, but we simply can’t get enough of what is probably one of if not the most appealing Ferraris in recent memory.

As you already know, it’s a harder, faster version of the regular 458, a car that was already deemed very competent by the vast majority of the motoring press.

The regular 458 is excellent in almost every way (for a supercar), though it does have its flaws, the biggest of which being the fact that it’s not all that entertaining to drive at slower speeds, the Speciale comes in and adds more in all areas, even those that didn’t necessarily need a boost.

Isn't all cars not all that entertaining to drive at slower speeds?

Default Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider heading to Pebble Beach this month - report

August 17 reveal probable

A new report indicates Ferrari will introduce the 458 Speciale Spider later this month at Pebble Beach.

4WheelsNews has apparently been contacted by a source from Maranello who said Ferrari will unveil an open-top Spider derivative of the 458 Speciale during this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It is believed Ferrari has already opened the order books for the model which could end up being a limited edition, just like they did with the 430 16M Scuderia Spider which was built in only 499 examples.

Power will come from the same 4.5-liter V8 engine delivering 605 PS (445 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft). Performance levels will be basically the same as in the 458 Speciale so expect the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task to take 3 seconds while the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) run will be done in 9.1 seconds, en route to a top speed of around 202 mph (325 km/h).

The Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider will probably be revealed on August 17 so "leaks" could occur several days from now.

Default Ferrari 458 Italia replica is a really nice effort

Click here to view more photos

Costs 47,950 GBP

A Ferrari 458 Italia replica which easily could fool the untrained eye has been listed on AutoTrader.

We still consider replicas as futile efforts but this particular Ferrari 458 Italia lookalike caught our attention. Unlike other replicas which you could spot from a mile away, this one was nicely put together and according to the seller it actually contains original parts. The owner has not revealed the identity of the original car but we do know it’s based on a vehicle built in 2000 and has covered 51,000 miles (82,076 km).

Power comes from a “powerful and economic” V6 2.5-liter engine aesthetically modified to imitate the 4.5-liter V8 inside the 458. It rides on 20-inch black alloy wheels while behind them are orange calipers featuring “Ferrari” lettering. Other goodies include electric windows, air conditioning, leather upholstery, sport seats, alarm, driver/passenger/side airbags, central locking and traction control system.

Despite being a nicely made replica, it’s still hard to justify the 47,950 GBP (80,600 USD / 60,000 EUR) asking price.

Default Ferrari 458 Speciale Put Through Its Paces, And Then Some: Video

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is a hardcore version of a car that's already fairly hardcore. The V-8 engine cranks out nearly 600 horsepower and this prancing horse only weighs in at around 3,200 pounds. That's good for a 0-60 time of right around three seconds, and a quarter-mile trip that takes less than 11 seconds.

YouTube All-Star Marchettino managed to capture a 458 Speciale being driven rather spiritedly. By that we man the driver can be seen power sliding through a turn, speeding through town, and even catching a bit of air over some rough pavement. That last bit is enough to cause a bit of scraping to the rear diffuser.

We love seeing someone out enjoying their car, but we do wish the driver of this particular machine would chill out on the speeding-through-town bit. Those sort of shenanigans usually see a car winding up in a very different article, that we really don't want to write.

Default Ferrari M458-T heading to 2015 Geneva Motor Show with 679 PS twin-turbo V8 - report

Significant design changes also planned

Ferrari will allegedly introduce the 458 Italia facelift in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The second modern turbocharged Ferrari after the recently introduced California T will be next year's 458 Italia facelift which will allegedly receive the "M458-T" moniker just in time for the Geneva Motor Show set for March. The 570 PS V8 4.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine of the 458 Italia will be replaced with a newly developed twin-turbo V8 generating approximately 679 PS (500 kW).

Developed under the codename 142M, the M458-T will likely be quicker than the 458 Italia which needs 3.6 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and tops out at 196 mph (315 km/h). In addition, the turbocharging technology should also cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions which currently stand at 13.3 liters / 100 km (17.6 mpg US / 21.2 mpg UK) and 307 g/km, respectively.

Besides the massive power bump, the M458-T will also come with a significantly revised exterior styling, a change imposed by the adoption of turbocharging Also expect to see reshaped front and rear bumpers, updated LED headlights & taillights along with several aerodynamic tweaks. On the inside, the facelifted 458 Italia will likely borrow California T's Harman Kardon infotainment system with support for Apple's CarPlay.

Long live the NA 4.5. The M458-T should give the 12C/650S, R8 and Huracán fits

Default Facelifted Ferrari 458 Italia Rumored to Debut in Geneva as the M458-T

Rumors that the Ferrari 458 Italia will adopt turbocharging for its first facelift are not new, but new details have emerged.

Said to be called the M458-T, the refreshed 458 Italia is expected to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as Ferrari’s second turbocharged model in the current lineup after the California T.

Developed under the codename 142M, the Ferrari M458-T will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 producing around 670 hp – which means it will be 100 hp more powerful than the current model’s naturally-aspirated 4.5-liter V8. The new engine will be an uprated version of the unit found in the California T, in which it produces 552 hp.

Design changes compared to the current 458 Italia are said to include the addition of bigger air intakes and more prominent lateral scoops in order to ensure the necessary airflow for the turbos, intercoolers and brakes. Expect restyled bumpers and LED lights and improved aerodynamics aimed at improving downforce in corners.

The cabin of the M458-T will also be refreshed, with additions including the same Harman-Kardon infotainment system from the California T as well as a reversing camera. Just like in the California T, the M458-T’s infotainment system will also feature Apple’s CarPlay.

We should also say thanks to McLaren for forcing Ferrari's hand here.
