Anyone else notice how poor newer Lexus commercials are? The narrator is not very good either:

These older ones invoke of a much more premium brand than the new commercials portray. Even only slightly older commercials like for the RX were better, as is the narrator:

Thoughts? I hope Lexus ditches the narrator and that style of commercial for the new GS.

 

those old hybrid commercials were great, especially the "moments" one. I love Lexus commercials and always appreciated them for their thought provoking words. There has definitely been a change in the overall theme, but I think it goes with the change of the brand. No longer does Lexus want to be known for artsy fartsy ideas and old money, so the new commercials kind of reflect the change, ie. the new CT commercials (which I hate).

How weird, i was just watching porsche commercials a little bit ago, the best in the industry if i do say so

 

The Gap commercial is awesome. I show it to my mom all the time to make fun of her 3-series.

They should bring back the "pursue the moment" direction and the narrator.

 

Except that commercial is hilariously boring compared than the Gap one, and doesn't show what the IS is capable of. The Gap one is awesome because it shows a Lexus not being stodgy and also takes a direct jab at their competitors, something they've needed to do for a long time now.

 

I thought the Gap commercial was pretty good, but the other could use some work. I miss the old school ES300, LS400, and SC commercials of the early 90's. Every commercial back in the 80's and 90's seemed so epic.

 

The "gap" commercial needs a new narrator, a better soundtrack and a fancier finish. The ideas are good but the execution is not premium enough for Lexus. The older commercials were executed a lot better, fit for a true luxury brand.
