Default '12 Honda CR-V revealed

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...-new-look.html

Honda has released a single photo of its upcoming 2012 CR-V compact crossover, and judging from the pic it’s a lot less compact than before.

While the photo is of a concept, in true Honda fashion that means it’s just a slightly embellished version of the production model that will debut later this year. The major style elements will remain, although expect toned-down amounts of chrome and smaller wheels. Of note is the three-bar grille, a design cue borrowed from the Accord CrossTour, but which looks significantly more fitting on this softroader.

Little is expected in the way of powertrain changes, with the 2.4-liter being carried over from the current generation with around 180-hp. A new 6-speed automatic could be part of the package, helping the CR-V achieve a slight improvement in fuel economy.

Also expect to find a version of Honda’s new i-MID system, featuring an in-dash LCD screen and steering wheel controls, which first debuted on the new 2012 Civic.

Even though this is the concept, it looks like the first Honda in a few years that wasn't designed by legally blind people.

Looks a bit less of a 'chick car' but I bet the wheels will be smaller killing the looks a lot.The wheels look like at least 18"'s in the pic and tire profile is much lower than the present 65 series.

I think it's an improvement over some recent Honda designs, especially the front. That tumor in the back, however... in the spy shots I thought it was put in there to confuse people of it's actual shape, but with this reveal, I'm shocked it's actually part of the rear sheetmetal.

this tumor in the back looks like it's an outgrowth from the crossturd

Wow, that actually looks neat (like a Honda iteration of the Kia Sportage).

Way better than 'bucktooth'

This approach of creating a more dynamic and agile design will definitely make the CR-V look more exciting.

Granted, this is only a concept. HOWEVER, if they say on course with the design (as much as possible), then they would have a hit (especially in the design and looks department)

All I can say atm is:
So far, amazing job there Honda

Keep it up

The grille definitely looks more fitting on there than the crosstour.

Can't say I like the tumor, but the car itself doesn't look entirely bad.

It doesn't look anything like the Kia Sportage. Or any Kia.
