Default What is more important handling or power?

I've always wondered if people would be willing to sacrifice power for handling or the reverse. For example, would you prioritize buying a powerful straight line car even if it handled like a boat? Or would you favor buying a great canyon carver despite being underpowered. Great handling or great power...which is more important to you guys?

Ideally, it'd be have a nice mix of both. But personally, I'd go with the handling, as I think it's more fun to handle the curves and turns than just straight line. This isn't to say that I'd get the S2k over the Bugatti

power without handling is scary...and handling without power is frustrating...I'd vote for the 3rd option: Balance

For my current driving needs and style, I would prefer power over handling assuming the brakes are up to the job to keep the speed in check. Michigan roads suck, I can't really deal with the harsher suspension a good handling car would leave you with. So I'll just stick to soft riding power for now.

^ Agreed balance of power and handling, combined with comfort, safety and style are my requirements.

Definitely handling. The power gets me in trouble and the handling gets me out of a tight squeeze..

Handling for me. Not saying that 100HP is enough, but most cars today have adequate HP. Anything 200+ is adequate. Anyway, that said if it has at least 200HP. I'll favor handling over 300+ HP and **** poor handling any day.

For everyday driving, power. I would like the extra power (and torque) to pass slow cars and trucks in freeways.

For weekend thrills, handling. Find a little mountain road, zip through some canyons, control the ride.

A lit of bit of both, but in a lightweight platform. If the LFA weighed as much as the new McLaren, I would say that it would be the best darn sports car in the world.

Depends on the type of handling and type of power. They are not all the same.

depends on the vehicle.
