Aston Martin Rapide: Test Drive
Drove the new Rapide last weekend, V-12 470hp drives like a sports car because it is a sports car, just happens to have 4 doors. Visually I would say it is basically flawless no compromises there. To start the car you insert the remote in the center of the dash and hold down till the engine roars to life & it does roar via the vacum controlled exhaust cutouts. 20" billet machined wheels all around, tires by Bridgestone. It basically looks & drives like a stretch DB9. Rear seat room is minimal as well as storage space in the rear hatch like "mini bootlette". A.M. obviously deceided to go the opposite way of Porsche's Panamera's rear half space wise. I will try to post a few pictures later.

I had one for 5 weeks during the U.S. Open in August because they asked me to drive one for "promotional use" before it came out. At first it was awesome, yea it turns heads, yea the exhaust sounds awesome, the Bang & Oulfsen sound system is incredible, but besides that I got kind of bored with it & the backseat was pointless... If it was $100,000 I'd be down with it, but it's almost $300,000 with options... I'm just basically summing this car up with not bad, not amazing, but "cool." Glad you got to experience it though too!

Great car.
The closest I've come to it, on a test-drive, was the Jag XKR convertible last December...I did a review. Driving an XKR convertible is like dating a supermodel.....I can imagine that an Aston, with the V12 and an even more upscale interior than the Jag, is even more so.
