Wow, I thought California was bad but Arizona has us beat! I just paid $400 for my 2008 IS 350, my friend just paid $700 for his 2010 M3.

FL prop taxes are very high, but then we don't have state income or other property taxes thankfully.

 

Fortunately property tax is usually tax deductible, unlike vehicle registration.

I license my cars in Ohio & it's very reasonable....$56.00 I think. But just across state lines in KY & IN it's hundreds of dollars, depending on value. Like KY people aren't poor enough...at least in CA you guys have decent weather & purdy things to look at...

Yes order of magnitude. Property tax of 10x or more vs registration cost is very common, mine included.

errr... you should really come to cali and take a look. having 10k for property tax isn't super crazy here. i am in town home and my property tax is already close to 8k.
