I see single drivers in the carpool lane allllll the time and to be honest, I encourage them! Because (in theory) it is 1 less car in my lane

But what I do hate is, at night, I'm doing 70-80 in the middle lane and a jerk out of no where begins to tailgate me because he wants to get by me. Hello? There's an open lane to the left ya dolt.

I agree. If they want to travel illegally in the HOV, be my guest, doesn't bother me one bit. It's their ticket, not mine. The good thing about Broward Co. (I'm from Coral Springs, your neighbor) is that the HOV lanes only become HOV lanes during certain times during the week. On weekends, and at low traffic times, the HOV lanes are open to everyone.
