I was on vacation at Predator Ridge a couple of weeks ago and this car was parked two stalls over from me. At the time, I was unsure of what it actually was, besides an Avanti.
After looking it up, I can tell you it is a '62 or '63 Studebaker Avanti. It was in incredible shape and definitely something special.
One of my college instructors was an Avanti driver/collector. He had 3 of them and loved them. One was modded but I forget what he'd done to it. Pretty rare these days I haven't seen his since college and that was very long ago.
Do you think it was an original rather than the later ones that were made by the independent Avanti Motors rather than Studebaker?
I'm not sure?
I don't know enough about these cars to really know. I was simply going off the info/images I could find on the Internet. It was in spectacular condition and someone was clearly taking extra good care of it.
Edit:
After doing some more research, the car that was produced afterwards by Avanti starting in '65 was called the Avanti II and was badged as such.
So from the pics I took, I do believe that it's an original Studebaker.
