There is clearly some distracted driving going on leading up to the majority of those crashes.

Meh, I commute to San Francisco almost regularly and I say Muni bus drivers are pretty freakin' bad. They make teenagers or seniors look good.

The 3 major TAs here(BART, AC Transit, SF Muni) have a knack for hiring random knacks and druggies off the street and they have full union immunity. At least BART doesn't have buses or streetcars as they operate on dedicated ROW and are computer controlled on every inch of track.

Sorry bastards just NOT paying attention to the road. This is why driving is sooooo damn dangerous.

I literally rarely drive on rainy days and even then it's within close proximity.

In where I live, when the signal is green, and it's close for being yellow/red, the green keeps blinking for a couple of seconds just to show it's time to stop. Dunno about you guys have that.

we dont have the blinking green lights to signal a soon to be changing light, but it does help somewhat that there is a countdown for the crosswalk. it eliminates whether a green has a few more seconds left before a rapid light change.
