Unlike the Fiat / Chrysler 500, you probably won't find this mouse laying on it's side with little x's on it's eyes.

I'm seeing conflicting release times. Let's just say sometime between this fall and early next spring. Lets hope Toyota (Scion) doesn't drag it on for another year and wait for next spring. It's already been on sale for over a year overseas.

This is going to blow the Smart out of the water. The Smart sacrifices everything to be small, while the iQ maintains a reasonable amount of practicality and yet is still "micro".

the smart fortwo is a horrible car full of compromises so it won't be hard to beat.
only seats 2
little cargo space
horrible interior quality
jerk auto-manual trans with no manual option
subpar gas mileage for it's size/weight
expensive for what you get

You can add, to this delightful list, a 2-year warranty (even on the drivetrain), long waiting lists (recently they have gotten shorter), Roly-Poly/beach-ball handling, a transmission that bucks the car like a rocking-horse when it shifts, and a need for Premium gas.

horrible interior quality
Yes and no. It is decidedly Spartan, but includes some very durable hardware on some features.

Road and Track magazine (I'm a regular subscriber) just did a comparison on the iQ with the Mazda Demio and Suzuki Swift.

Cool video! I like the attention to detail like the red LEDs under the car.
