Arrow Mazda Recalls 90,000

Mazda recalled nearly 90,000 vehicles in Japan and China because of a problem with the transmission, a company spokesman said Thursday.

The recall was for about 35,000 of a passenger car called the Axela in Japan, the spokesman said.

The company also recalled in China about 55,000 of the same model that is called the Mazda 3 there.

This comes after Mazda recalled 12,300 CX-9 crossover SUVs over potentially overheating seats in March.

Many car companies have recalled vehicles this year. However, none have come close to Toyota, which recalled more than 8 million cars because of multiple problems.

At this rate, we're going to need another whole forum just for recalls and investigations.

because of a problem with the transmission,
You would think, with thousands of parts in some transmissions, that the company could be a LITTLE more specific.

Isn't that the truth, it seems to be the season. Maybe they will replace that cheezzy lower grill while the car's in the shop.

But with all this media attention (recently led by Toyota's issues), the auto makers aren't hesitating to pull the trigger on recalls.

The company name doesn't start with a "T". Therefore there's nothing to worry about. The general public won't be made aware of it.

And that's the advantage of being low profile, most of the public will only remember pointless zoom-zoom commercials.

Numbers do not lie. Wether there was something wrong is pretty obvious in my book but not willing to argue.

Attached is the fix that will be done to the IS250/350/-F's. It is essentially a fix to minimize the possibility of a mat fouling the gas pedal. So no matter what opinions are on these recalls, Lexus/Toyota is taking very exacting corrective actions (including replacing gas pedal with newly designed foot pad and reflash of ECM with new override system in the case of the IS cars).

(thanks to Joe Z, who posted this in the IS 2nd gen section).
