The Chevy Cruze is the Focus competitor.

It's like saying that the Lexus LS is better than the GS. Of course it is!

Ahh - you're right. My bad.... I can honestly say the Aveo seems to have "stepped up" but I guess when comparing it's not exactly in the same size classification.

 

I'll expect to tryi it, as a rental car.

I personally was referring to the upcoming Focus, not this horrid one. I think others in this thread meant the same thing (I hope!!)

My wife (then girlfriend) had a 2000 Focus SE 4-dr w/ the Zetec engine and I thought it looked pretty good. Over the years they have softened the appearance and now it just looks dumb.

I too have to say this vehicle is a step up from the current gen aveo....I drove one of my managers rental veoh's for a pickup, and boy o boy....was that car cheap as HELL on the inside......who would actually buy a car that cheap looking and feeling?

yeah, new one is very nice. but i think Aveo is finally competitive in styling department. it will do well.

 

looks better than the last. I see some KIA forte and lancer styling cues there. Its about time the American learn to copy the Japanese

 

The kicker in the old car was that you can throw a bouncy ball in there and it would go for quite a long time all over the plastics in the car

Hopefully they addressed all cheapness factors in the new one...
