Default Rolls Royce custom Mini Cooper gets green light

Special editions and the Mini seem to go together like rubber and asphalt, with no fewer than three such models released in the past year such as the Mayfair and Camden 50th Anniversary models (pictured).
But the next special edition is expected to be something very special, indeed.
Executives at BMW have reportedly given the green light for a cooperation between Rolls-Royce and Mini to create a new bespoke edition with a focus primarily on upgrading the interior experience. Coachbuilt Minis actually have something of a history in the UK, and the latest Rolls-Royce Mini would seek to tap into that vein.
The new car will be modified by the craftsman at Rolls-Royce’s own plant in Goodwood, and each will be unique.
Exactly what would be found in the interior of a Rolls-Royce Mini is still unknown, but high-grade leather upholster, wood and metal trim elements, re-styled console elements and a unique color scheme are tipped as likely inclusions.
There's no timeline yet for a release, but it's believed that the Rolls-Mini collaboration is already at the late prototype stage, so an announcement could be coming any time now.

So it's just upgraded leather?

yup seems like a BMW edition not a Rolls Royce edition.....well i guess they really are the same now. I have to agree that all I am seeing is a little bit of extra leather and upgraded materials around the console and center stack

all of the decentered dash features are so stupid. I am so surprised that so many manufacturers have jumped on it. I would not buy a car if it had a set up like that

If it was painted at the RR factory (10+ coats anyone?) then maybe it'll be more special.

a upgrade to "adequate" power would be useful as well

How about a 6 3/4 liter V12 shoehorned into a mini cooper

I'd think the Mini would be too flimsy, too loud, too jerky, and brakes too sensitive to be anything close to RR....

would they ditch the BMW type shifter to only a RR's PRD shifter?

All I want to say is the Mini's not refined to be RR

Nice interior, but I'd prefer to see the effort on a better car.

Have you guys ever actually driven a Mini Cooper??? I have and they are great. It drives like a 40k fwd 3 series. It really is the best "premium compact" car
