See if there are any other rebates as well... for example there are sometimes extra $500-$1000 rebates for people that are members of certain credit unions or insurance companies.

One of my friend have a 2 year old Escalade and a couple other friends of a friend have them as well. From I have heard, their power train is rock solid. Its the little things that is not as reliable, as long as you can live with that, you will be happy with the Escalade. Also keep in mind that Caddy have been climbing the chart in recent reliability surveys. In the old days, I would have say get a LX or a Rover, but the new Escalade is now a worthy competitor.

The Escalade suffers from the non uncommon GM discounting syndrome where people are used to heavy discounts so they will not buy it without heavy discounts. It also suffers from its image as a massive gas guzzler. Not to say its image isn't reflective of its true self, but there are other vehicles out there that suck just as much gas if not more that people don't perceive as a gas guzzler. That's why they have to throw out so many incentives. It's also one of the reasons why it appears to have such terrible depreciation. But when you consider that even though a used one is for sale for 25k less than its sticker, that it's still only selling for 7k less than its real purchase price, it's not that bad. I'd still buy used though unless you get a stellar deal on a new one.
