Consumer Reports rates ISC "below average" in reliability (!)
Like many, I take the publication with a grain of salt. But I think they have rated past Lexi pretty accurately as far as reliability goes.
I just read the latest issue of CR and they tested the updated Mustang Convertible. In the sidebar, they compare it to others in it's class and the IS250C received a below average rating for reliability. That was quite surprising as I have never seen a modern-day Lexus or Toyota fall below an average rating (even with the recalls). I know there isn't much chatter on CL about the ISC, but has there been a lot of issues with the C? Other than the retracting top and some structural tweaks, I can't see the car being all that differerent from its higher rated sedan counterpart.
Besides the squeaks and rattles that others have been complaining about, I dont see why the 250c would have such a rating. I have had no real problems with my car. I loved it before I bought it and I still love it now.
I have never owned a vert so I cannot compare the experience. I would like to see the scale that the comparison was based upon. In the end, it really doesnt matter because I am still going to keep my car and keep modding.
My friend has a IS350c it has no problem at all... i drove the Mustang Convertible before it does not feel nearly as good as the IS ... the person who did this CR must work for Ford or something.
the person who did this CR must work for Ford or something.
I haven't received my November issue to see the quote, but ordinarily Consumer Reports reliability ratings are not subjective, they are mathematically derived from the answers their readers provide in the annual survey mailed to all subscribers.
