Default BMW, MB, Maserati

Hello guys - I've a few questions.

What is the largest BMW Dealership in the USA?

What BMW tuner's are currently handling any performance upgrades for the 2009-2010 750Li?

Final question: I'm comparing the 2010 MB S550 vs 2010 BMW 750Li (with Xdrive) vs 2009 Maserati Quattroporte S.

Your thoughts on either? Also - If I'm not mistaken the Maserati Does NOT come with AWD or 4WD correct?

Thanks.

No, Crevier BMW says they are the largest in the West Coast, so that means there is a place some where in the East or Midwest that is larger

As for any BMW questions, the best web site I know is:

To be completely honest with you I probably wouldn't touch any of those cars with a 10 ft. pole - no, no, correct that; read 100 ft. pole. The maintenance prices on any of these cars once the warranty is expired is enough to choke anyone's wallet into cardiac arrest.

Alpina is your best bet. Not sure if Dinan has anything yet

Seems in reviews the new 7 is of course a great vehicle but the S-class is still regarded as top dog. The 7 has an optional in car Internet feature. Both cars offer similar performance.

The Quattroporte is the niche car here, the most beautiful but lacks the space and features. The V-8 is strong and N/A. I recommend the S and it seems the auto is the way to go, not the manumatic. Also dealers are limited.

It is MY choice out those 3 by far.

No Maserati has AWD, all are RWD.

Thanks.

Hope that helps

Thank you for your replies. I've owned a few MB's and have had absolutely zero problems with any of them....Never owned a BMW before but something about the new 750Li really intrigues me....

I'd much rather opt for the Maserati but 4WD or AWD is a must for my next sedan.

I've owned an S-Class MB and fell in love with it's design, interior quality and cloud like drive. My business partner bought the 09' 750Li and raved about it (until one of his associates totaled the car 2 days after purchase).

In terms of performance modifications - I'm not looking to do anything outrageous - just 30 or so extra horses would be sufficient?

2010 750Li with 21-22" vossen rims would be a great look no?

Thanks again,

easy choice... 7-series kinda old (same as 2002 w/ few revisions). Maserati is niche car (Pimp Factor) but no AWD. S550 4matic with AMG sport package is easy choice. New S-class was introduced in 2007. I'm sure BMW 7 is due for major change soon.

LEXUS 4 LIFE

people looking at these 3 cars aren't as worried about warranty...
people who look at 60-70k LS460 might be worried about warranty issues... just my opinion...

Don't know how reliable this is but I heard it from a lexus salesman, but apparently the average income of an LS 460 buyer is $175,000 and the average for the $110k LS 600hL is about $400,000 (I believe they have a representative, random sample of people that they survey to come up with these figures)

Looking into other brands, income/net worth spikes almost exponentially when you get into $180k ferraris, lambos or $500k rolls. Average net worth is about $25 million + for buyers of these cars (source: forbes)

Average income of porsche 911 buyers is $390,000 (again forbes)

Another interesting one - average income of prius owners is $95,000.

Scion tC owners average income is around $60,000 (all forbes)

I posted an article about this a while back, but the LS 600 hL figure came from the salesman directly.

Edit: sorry , scratch "average" on all of those, the correct term is "median". Those are all median figures, not average.

good philosophy to have. I don't believe in brand loyalties, I look around at all the competitors and choose what I think is best for me at that time.

I plan on owning a mercedes SL, maybe c63 AMG, maybe a bmw M in the future, etc.

We only live once might as well spice it up.
