Default Hs250

I know it's not a corolla!! you know what i mean.

pricing has been released.

standard model starting at $34,200* and the Premium model commanding $36,970*.

Standard features on the HS 250h include leather-trimmed seats; 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat; a 10-speaker, 137-watt audio system with a six-disc CD changer, a subwoofer and center speaker; Bluetooth® for phone and music streaming capabilities; integrated subscription satellite radio (includes 90-day trial); USB/ iPod® connectivity operated via steering wheel controls or the display screen; and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The HS 250h incorporates a standard class-leading 10-airbag Supplemental Restraint system and front active head rests.

The HS 250h Premium model adds heated/ventilated front seats trimmed in semi-aniline leather; 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels; rain-sensing windshield wipers; heated electrochromic exterior mirrors; genuine wood interior trim; and a new memory system that allows individual driver settings for seat, power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, outside mirrors and air conditioning settings to be recalled automatically by individual key fobs.

no doubt, the dealers will have a few extras on top of the premium option, e.g spoiler, alloys, ML stereo

so it will prob come out to $40000+.

$40k for a damn corolla-looking car??!?!

that's like driving a super high-tech Aztek

Yeah, you got it all right except it's not a Corolla...

$34,200 is right in between the IS250 and IS350, as where it should be.

i gotta ask again

why did they go and make it look like a corolla?!

they didn't even try to design better looking tail lights.

the HS and RX tail lights look like a shapeless lump of clear plastic.

Agreed. But like the Corolla the new Lexus makes no attempt to be sporty or fun to drive. It will be the first high mileage hybrid to provide some luxury, which I view as a plus in the marketplace.

So if the HS is a $40k Corolla, that makes your GS a $50k Camry?

I've seen one HS250h on the road, it actually reminded me very little of a Corolla.

The HS250h shares the platform with the Avensis and in a closer examination, it does look like an Avensis more than a Corolla, especially in the front quarter view:

Understandable considering that tall roof/tall side glass profile (practical, not especially attractive).

btw (OT), thanks for your input on springs/suspension mods for the IS350, very helpful.

The HS250h is actually pretty fun to drive, especially with the Touring Package. This is an entry level luxury car. If you want something sporty or fun to drive, the IS or possibly the GS are the cars for that purpose.

Have you driven an HS yet? If not, I would encourage you to try it out. You'll be surprised.

from the now posted pictures of the corolla and the HS, the only similarities really only include the lower body cladding and MAYBE the headlights but thats stretching it.

All in all, doesnt look like a corolla, but that doesnt mean its especially pretty to look at. lol

Agree.

The HS250h is not a pretty car to look at but it certainly does not look like a Corolla except both share the tall up-right stance in order to maximize interior space.

I thought they would make it a good bit cheaper, maybe starting at 30k. And now it's more expensive than an IS250.

Seems a little out of place. I wonder if people will choose it over the prius.

Prius tops out at 30K before ridiculous options so a 5k premium makes sense...but it does look like a corolla
