Default Shell Nitrogen Gasoline?

Just saw a commercial for this. Shell is putting nitrogen in its gas saying its supposed to clean out your engine and all that jazz. Any thoughts?

Heres one of the commercials:

Probably only a little nitrogen to help raise the octane, so they can use cheaper gas.

I have no clue, don't take this post as fact.

They've been doing this for years as a detergent additive. They're just now advertising it. Chevron has been doing it for years in the form of "techron" which is badass stuff btw, and BP just started marketing it as "invigorate"

I am down for anything that will increase mileage. The prices are not going to sit at 2 dollars a gallon for ever

Here is a post I found in the Audi RS4 forum that claims the new shell gas is re-formulated:

The new Shell Detergents are based on an amine chemistry. Terry Dyson has done work for Shell and knows the chemists involved. He assures me that at the time that they began advertising Nitrogen (amine) additives, an entirely new formulation was introduced in the US that was specifically enhanced for direct injected engines.

I've tried it twice in my Mazda 3, 2nd time today when I filled up for $1.75/gallon. I see no difference, positive or negative...MPG about the same, power about the same....hopefully its cleaning the internals....but I'm sure not as good as my usual Chevron with Techron (which is the only thing I put in the C6)

Mobil is not bad. Doesn't rank as highly for me as Chevron or Sunoco, but I hold Mobil's gasoline in a positive light based on experience.

I put in a bottle of Techron every 6 months anyways, but the Shell V-power is suppose to have the highest percentage of cleaning detergent. Most other brand of gas have the same amount of detergent in all their grade of gas.

As a result we don't see this "exclusive" claim of detergents any more.

Car guru Ed Wallace on his radio show a few weeks back stated that nitrogen has been in use by several gas companies for some time now...Shell seems to be the leader in marketing!
does that mean Chevron uses nitrogen in their Techron formula?
