The SC is heavy b/c its based on the older GS platform. Coupes based on sedans are always going to be heavy.

Dave stop drinking. Why on earth are you posting pics of the SL 63 and the CLK 63 black series? Those are nowhere near SC competitiors
none the less in the bare clk350 and sl500 versions they still look very intimadating

I cant get over how good they look when the suspension and wheels have been addressed.

The sc430 is very good at what it is, a grand touring convertible. It was not made to be the quickest or best handling car and it is not by a far stretch.

What I love about the car is the interior and how surprisingly quiet the cabin is when the top is up. The sc430 has been one of my most reliable cars and I have had relatively minor issues in the past of 5 years of ownership.

I agree that it is not the most practical vehicle and the factory pie plates look horrible but when a SC is fixed up right (my favs are rominl & gsxotic sc's) it looks 10x better than stock.

damn even better with the top down. I cant believe my brother didnt buy the one he was looking at. I think a white SC ( as shown) or a black one with a nice drop and a set of staggered wheels

& for the record I like the 430, I just would prefer it to handle better, but the design of the car is by me. Thing I would change? The headlights, I think they look too suprised, & I don't want a suprised looking car ... looks better w. eye-lids IMO.
lol. SURPRISE!!! hahahaha...

to the OP, i like the SC a lot but only if it's lowered with flush wheels. I kinda see it as a reliable audi tt sort of...

i've only ridden in one of them and i liked it a lot. i like the shape of the car because it's like a nice smooth river rock or a ball of mercury rolling around on the table if the SC is silver.

wait until the car gets to the sub 20k level and i suspect demand for aftermarket parts will go up as younger people graduate from their s2000s and 350zs to an SC430.

This has been fixed since '06MY. Car doesn't roll at all at moderate performance driving, as a matter of fact it feels very confident at taking sharp turns and yet maintaining very soft comfort level. Feels wierd in a good way.

Im reading this post and laughing at most of you guys! the SC430 is NOT a sports car. Once we can grasp that concept, we are on our way. The SC430 was not based on the previous SC300/400. NewFlash.... the SC300/400 is NOT a sports car. Everyone who thinks because people in japan use the car as a drift car makes it a sports car... well... HAHAHAHHA.

I personally never like a LEXUS as delivered from the factory. Lexus cars always have sat a bit too high compared to other European competitors. LEXUS wheels are just subjective as well. We all can change to whatever wheels we like.

Just look at the GS's and IS's compare a nicely modded GS and IS next to a stock OEM one (night and day)

SC430 was not meant to be a customizeable tuner car built for track events. What were you guy smoking thinking you could make it into one?

I appreciate the SC430 for what it is... and that is a nice refined luxury roadster.

Its a nice bling car.... its not blazing fast, or strikingly sporty. I think the car fills it's niche and I always like seeing them on the road. Makes me proud to see a refined lexus on the road every once in a while.

I like the car for what it is... could it look nicer? yes. so could a lot of other cars.

Perhaps when Lexus changes its business model towards performance instead of luxury we may satisfy you all. if i wanted a Mercedes or BMW i would have just bought one. Why must I want my Lexus to look or feel like a Mercedes or BMW?

The SC430 is a love hate design. I don't like convertibles so I don't like it. I also had a first gen SC400 so I'm more into actual coupe. The SC430 is like the new Acura TL. Why hate it when its better all around than the previous TL? Well it's all a matter of the over all exterior design. Some people like the style, some hate it, and most are indifferent.

PS. I also dislike the 2nd gen Solara that mimics the SC430 style. I much rather have the 1st gen Solara style.
