I am still amazed every time I think about this. They are uneducated blue collars doing menial tasks over and over how is it that teachers, medical professionals...hell about anyone with a decent education , doesnt make that kind of money. I hope they go bankrupt so they can screw the union.
If you guys look at footage of the UAW workers on the production line you would feel that a stoned teenager could do their jobs , and do it faster. And actually if you include the cost of their benefits their pay is closer to 71 dollars an hour. Its like GM's workers and union is like an invasive cancer that will kill its carrier

how do you know they are uneducated? dont put down people by the work they do.
Nice article, IMO the people that work at those plants better hope the UAW keeps its grip on some factories. That's the only reason they are making nearly the same amount. If the UAW goes down, so does the non-unionzed wages in the south, which they deserve. $20 is the most somebody should get for a non-specialized, routine job.
Fine, so let's say the average pay of UAW workers is $40/hr for monkey-see-monkey-do jobs. Just to put this in perspective:
An aerospace engineer with a master's in aerospace engineering from a tier-1 national university with 2 years of working experience under the belt who works for the nation's 4th largest defense company in Los Angeles, CA makes...
$37.625/hr (including health benefit and vacation pay)
So if you are telling me that UAW workers aren't overpaid then I say HAFU.
I'm a unionized federal employee. I have an aviation degree and required 2 years of on the job training before I could work by myself. I make life and death decisions every day and don't make near $40 an hour.

I found this link on another forum, looks like Ford employees have lots of extra time for drinking over extra long lunch hours. I guess all that high pay goes for something... http://www.clickondetroit.com/video/10235271/index.html
Doesn't it make you feel good your hard earned tax dollars are going to support this?? I know if I did this I would not have a job!
