Next month, Audi will debut it's R8 V10 at the Detroit Motor Show. Audi R8 V10 is the fastest production R8 yet. Audi R8 V10 will come with a 5.2L V10 engine, generating 528 HP, the same as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. One of the unique things on the R8 V10 are the LED headlights for the main and dipped beams, a rear diffuser to create more down force and twin oval tailpipes tag the rear of the V10, as opposed to the quad chrome exchaust of the V8.
Audi R8 V10 features magnetic dampers and comes with a choice of 6-speed manual transmission or an R tronic semi-automatic gearbox.
Audi R8 V10 reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h. Regarding the interior, you get a Bang and Olufsen system that quite expensive. There is a Nappa leather finish too.
Price tags ? 121.800 pounds in the UK, 140.800 euros, 181.751 USD.

$180k. Really, Audi?
Thanks but no thanks, I'll take the ZR1 right now or wait for the LF-A.

There's certain panache of owning a MR car, especially with a V10 from a Lambo.Originally Posted by ffpower

Although I guess I would only argue that if it were the case for the ZR-1. I know the ZR-1 is very limited and is a fortune to own and probably has a better track time than the R8 but it's got a Chevy badge built alongside cheaper Corvette brethren.
Also the V10 R8 is essentially a reskinned Lambo Gallardo.

Plus your car (in one form or another) won't be at every stoplight in America. Corvettes are everywhere, and I don't say that to take anything away from the mighty ZR1. The R8 is...well...an R8 no matter what configuration it's in.Originally Posted by Koma

Hmm... I guess I'll need the Iron Man suit to go along with the R8...
Seriously though I am sure people buy the R8 (whether it's V8 or V10) mainly for its styling or status symbol over its performance. If that's the case I rather just get a Ferrari California because I don't care who you are, Ferrari > Audi.
However, for me personally, if I am getting a sports car in this price range I am expecting to take it to the track and smoke everyone there so the obvious choice right now is the ZR1.

I always loved the look of the R8 and this is no exception, which ofcourse includes the wheels.
However, ffpower is right. I will either get the R8 v8 or a Ferrari or AM if I start going to the $180 range.

Very nice, now it has the power to truly take on other exotics and back up its looks. It looks very good in white. I have much more respect for Audi for taking a chance and coming out with a car like the R8 as low volume sports cars from major manufactures usually lose a bunch of money, I am sure the bean counters did not want the R8 and wanted another SUV, Crossover, or hatchback. I also agree that 180K is a pretty high and I doubt I would spend all that extra money just for a v10 and some other bits. The R8 with the 8 cylinder is already pretty pricey but not nearly as bad as most its competition.

Cool but they should call it the R10. I hate the wheels, but if I had the money for that ride I dont think I would be rolling on stock shoes anyway

Not a big fan of the wheels and I think a targa top would be a cool look for this car. I bet the V10 puts the driving experience on another level though.
