South Florida - Largest Volume Lexus Dealer Announces “December to Remember” Sales Event
JM Lexus, the largest volume Lexus dealership in the world for the past 18 years, announced landmark holiday incentives at its state-of-the-art showroom in Margate, Fla., in what may be the best time ever to purchase a vehicle.
Due to production cutbacks of new car inventory during the past few years, Jim Dunn, vice president and general manager of JM Lexus, said drivers have been holding on to their vehicles longer, resulting in a significant shortage of high quality luxury pre-owned inventory.
“Supply for these luxury pre-owned vehicles is down and demand is up, putting owners in the driver’s seat when it comes to getting a great price,” Dunn said. “This increase in value gives those high-end vehicle owners a major advantage when selling their cars.”
In addition to giving record deals on trade-in vehicles, JM Lexus launched its “December to Remember” campaign, offering the best deals of the year so its customers can give a truly memorable gift—even if it’s a present for themselves. Available deals during this sales event include:
• 2010 HS 250h with navigation, parking assist, and front/backup camera monitor for $399 per month for 36 months with $0 first payment, $0 security deposit, $0 down payment.
• 2011 IS 250 for $399 a month for 48 months with $0 first payment, $0 security deposit, $0 down payment.
• 2010 Lexus IS 250 convertible for $499 a month for 48 months and only $999 out of pocket.
• 2011 IS 250 for $399 a month for 48 months with $0 first payment, $0 security deposit, $0 down payment.
• 2010 Lexus IS 250 convertible for $499 a month for 48 months and only $999 out of pocket.
“We are definitely gaining momentum. Dealerships are seeing customers returning to showrooms as consumers gain confidence that the economy is slowly recovering,” Dunn said. “We want to ease our guests’ buying process by offering great incentives during the month of December. What better gift to give someone you love than a Lexus?”
According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, November’s annual selling rate of total new vehicles was 12.2 million, matching October as the best month this year for U.S. auto sales, up from September’s 11.8 million pace. Excluding the August 2009 spike caused by the federal government's $3 billion Cash for Clunkers program, these have been the best sales months since September 2008 and the highest this year.
Lexus has been the No.1 selling luxury car in America since 2000. On a year-to-date basis, combined sales of the eight best-selling premium brands — Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Cadillac, Acura, Infiniti, Audi and Lincoln — climbed by 17.7% to 1,110,161 unit sales versus 942,823 unit sales in the same period a year ago.
“The introduction of new models and the willingness of consumers to make more expensive purchases have begun to satisfy the pent-up-demand of premium vehicles created during the recession,” Patrick Mullen, forecasting analyst at J.D. Power and Associates, recently said.
“With the combination of higher used-car values, consumer confidence and incredible December to Remember deals, there has never been a better time to buy a Lexus,” Dunn said.

2011
Lexus' iconic red-bow sales program, December to Remember, begins earlier this year, with financing and lease specials available now on various 2011 and 2012 models.
Everyone is used to seeing winter holiday decorations hit department stores earlier each year, but the fact that the sale is named after the month of December and will run through all of November is a bit humorous to us, but likely not to the company.
Inventory recoveries after Japan's earthquake disruptions have prompted the brand to move the program ahead of its usual Thanksgiving kickoff, Lexus chief Mark Templin told reporters yesterday. This year's December to Remember began Tuesday and ends Jan. 3.
Specials vary by region. We contacted Lexus dealers in greater New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles. Here's what we learned:
High-credit buyers can get 1.9% financing on certain 2011 sedans, depending on the market, including the IS 250/350, ES 350 and GS 350. One dealership offered this rate last month, but others bottomed out at 2.9%. Financing terms last up to 60 months.
High-credit buyers can get 0.9% to 1.9% financing on certain 2012 models, depending on the market. Among the models are the ES 350 and IS 250/350 sedans, the RX 350 crossover and the CT 200h hybrid. This improves on last month's rates for the 2012s, which two dealerships quoted at 2.9%. One had no financing discounts at all. Terms last up to 60 months. How much does that save? If you financed $30,000 for 60 months at 2.9%, you'd pay $537.72 a month. At 0.9%, you're down to $511.52. Or $1,572 over the life of the loan.
The program will also have various lease specials on the cars above, in some cases as low as $309 a month, for the IS 250 and CT 200h.High-credit buyers can get 0.9% to 1.9% financing on certain 2012 models, depending on the market. Lexus spokesman Bill Kwong said marketing for the program would launch Nov. 18, but we're letting you in on it now.
Lexus needs as much traction as it can get. Sales were down 14.2% for October compared with a year ago, and sales remain off 16.2 percent for the year.
And while inventories are low, they are rebounding. As of Oct. 1, the brand had just 29 days' supply — a reflection of how long it would take dealers to sell their current cars at a normal selling rate. However, the supply is up from 25 days in September. Among major luxury brands, only Audi (27 days) has fewer cars on hand with the average rate for the major luxury brands at 47 days. A year ago, Lexus dealers had 47 days' supply as well.
Parent brand Toyota's Toyotathon event won't start until its usual Thanksgiving week time frame, a Toyota spokeswoman said. Like the Lexus sale, it varies by dealership and ends Jan. 3.

A few years ago, Lexus had the same special December rates in February. This has happened other times too. Sometimes it's publicly announced, other times it's not.

While on topic, the fact that Lexus has bumped up their "biggest" discounting of the year by one month means they are hurting. They need to undo the falling sales and get through what new inventory is starting to arrive or accumulate.

It's not December yet. Can't have a sale with that name until the month hits. In the meantime, the offers are still there. Maybe Lexyus needs to coin a November to Remember Event.

A reason they are pushing sales b/c they are about to get A LOT of inventory since the factories are back running normally. They are about to get TONS of RX vehicles for example.
Lexus is lucky they still got some strong sellers in the RX/ES and the CT has been a hit while the older models sell. The IS is holding on well, the SC is gone, the GS/LS are older, the LX is niche, that leaves what a GX which sells around 1200 or so a month and the HS which has been a flop.
Next year don't expect any miracles either, the GS will be new but the IS/LS will still be pushing on and the ES debuts in the fall. That leaves SUVs and the CT to do the dirty work.
Lexus was selling at a rate NEVER SEEN BEFORE in the history of luxury brands. I mean they were selling 30,000 units a year and outselling many non-luxury brands. It seems the pace for these brands (BMW/Benz/Lexus) might be around 18-22k a month on average.

Very true. Longo only had 10-12 RXs at the beginning of October. Now they have 80+.
