So you are basing your decision on Performance period?

What if its a daily drive car?

I love sport cars, but I guess it has to do with the stage that you are at with your life. My business is really busy and any free time is spent with the family so I don't have time to drive a sports car. I suppose that is another reason.
lol , If you have kids and you want to use it as family car kinda thing, then lambo is not amonge the chooses for sure .

CL65 without thinking twice.

Why?

I'm 38 and unless I can afford more than one exotic (I consider the CL65 an exotic too) I need one that is "practical". The Gallardo is nice and a looker for sure and hauls a ss. But the Merc will get noticed by "those who appreciate what it is", haul just as much a ss and with a 3 additional occupants at that!
The new bodystyle is simply perfection: sexy, strong, sleek, and timeless as was it's prior model. I would also say the CL65 is even more rare than the Lambo. I got up close and personal with a Black/Black CL65 and this car is perfection and practicality on wheels... period!
The proplem with the CL is as soon as you get it out the lot it depreciates like hell, after a few years it wont worth the same like the Lambo would at the same year.

Second problem with CL is what i highlighted in red in your reply. Basiclly, most ppl wont appreciate it or think its worth it comparing to Lambo just because its MB at the end of the day. There are only a few ppl on the road really know about cars that much.

But for $200,000, I'd choose an Aston Martin DB9 around ~$190,000 w/ about 40ish miles. Then splurge on other things with the $10,000 or go cheap and get a Maserati GranTurismo.
Not into Aston. Only between Gallardo and CL65. But Good saying tho

Between the gallardo and CL65 only, what would be your chooes?

Not just performance. The CL65 has a pretty good edge over the Gallardo when it comes to straight line speed, though dont quote me on that.

Exclusiveness and track performance are my priorities if I were to be shopping for a coupe at this price level. If I wanted Luxury, I'd look into a sedan instead.

To me, the CL is just another CL with a larger engine (and a few others). T be honest, if I was going to buy a CL, I'd rather have the CL55 or CL63. I love the exhaust of those big V8s, more than the V12 itself.

The Gallardo is just 'different' in a good way.

No need to read the other 4 pages. Nail on the head right here, the 2nd post.

CL65 for me.
I have own something similar to both cars a NSX and CL500, which is a downgrade CL65. I hate to say it after hit the curves a few times you want relax in luxury and that is where the CL65 shines. I prefer the elegant, business man look anyway.

Maybe I am getting old.

I absolutley LOVE the MB CL, but with that said, I would pick the Lambo.

Cars are rarely an invenstment, but if I can at least minimize the hit, I would do so. Plus the Lambo gets the attention and has the speed to match.

I know it is a stretch, but why no save $80K, get the CL63 AMG and then something else, maybe a GTR or used Gallardo or Ferrari 360.

Honesly, CL600 not worth the money. Good car, but ppl think of it as another MB in the road. Specially since its even AMG

Iam with in the interior thing. However, I do not like SL65 period. Specially because the look of it still the old generation kinda look, from the back and the introier, Its not sharing the same interior design with the new S-class and CL-class. More like the current E-class genration design whitch will be replaced soooon.

Lambo gives you the busniess man look thing as well. True saying regarding the comfort of the CL65

They are both around $200,000 new. So there is no saving.

I understand the CL65 is $200k new, but the CL63 is at least $70K cheaper.

I think you have your answer right there...AMG or not, at the end of the day, it's still a MB that people view it as. CL600/550/63AMG/65AMG, it doesn't matter since it's still a Mercedes. It seems you do indeed have a slight bias to the Gallardo although you've been trying to hide your true feelings. Just take care and know the "maintenance" fees associated with the Lambo.

I cant say i do not want the gallardo. But at the same time , the luxury of the CL is breathtaking.
