Mercedes has sold "pullman" S-Class cars in various configurations outside the U.S. at least since the Grand Mercedes 600 was discontinued in the early 80s. You can read about and see photos of the current armored "Guard" S-Class pullman at http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/23/s...usine-in-deve/
I wonder if Toyota/Lexus makes anything like that!
I have actually seen a stretched LS400 in Tallin, Estonia two years ago, I suspect it's custom stretched though, & not from the factory. I didn't have time take out my camera before it went out of sight ...
The above photo of the rear seat area of a Maybach 62 illustrates one of the hallmarks of top ultra-luxury sedans -- rear passenger doors with an almost perfectly vertical rear edge. You can also see this design in the older Grand Mercedes and both the past and current Roll Royce Phantom.
Just imagine an LS460/600h with the executive rear seating option having a wheelbase long enough to allow for a vertical rear door edge. An additional 12 inches of wheel base would not only allow full use of the front passenger seat but also the inclusion of a reclining "ottoman" seat behind the driver.
A 12" longer wheelbase LS460/600h like I am talking about would have the same wheelbase and still be a foot shorter than the short wheelbase Maybach 57 sedan.
Even at $20,000 more than the current LS460/600h with Executive rear seating, a super wheelbase LS460/600h with "dual" Executive rear seating would truly be in different and higher class.
