I watched this last week on the Harry & Paul show on BBC1 - blatent rip-off of Monty Python's Whicker Island sketch but great anyway. Hope Bit doesn't see that part with the MX-5 (Miata).

Top Gear has been the most-watched program on BBC2, and not to sound like a cynic or a greedy opportunist, but Hammond's crazy crash and even crazier recovery helped boost the show into one of the most-watched programs in the country, not to mention all over the world.
but due to the unique way the BBC is funded, they do have a limited budget for all the shenanigans they pull (which is why some people think that the seasons have been getting shorter)
