Post Evo X vs 135i

"Maybe this was a mistake," come the murmurs from the test track. Part of the rationale behind this odd pairing was the BMW claim that the 135i sprints to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds, just a tick under what we've seen out of the manual Evo GSR. How do we explain our 135i consistently ripping off 4.7-second runs to 60, a full half-second faster than our Evo MR's fancy launch controlled sprint? We can't.

A lot of BMW threads there...lol There is a vid of this Motortrend shoot-out on youtube.... Both great cars though...

The 135 is not a small car inside at all. I am 6'4 and fit in that car with room to spare.. Similar leg & hip room up front as a 335 suprisingly.

It's too cutesy for me though. I would much rather take a 335 for the extra money over the 135.

+1, while I'm not big on the tail end of the 3 series, I'd take it over the 1

"Too bad that, when it came time for hot laps, all the BMW delivered just wasn't enough; in one lap around the 2.74-mile Reno-Fernley Raceway, the Evo put a blistering 3.42 seconds on the 135i ."

I thought the same until I drove them both. I couldn't believe how much more fun and sporty the 1 felt. Of course, if you're looking for more of a cruiser, then 335 all the way. Personally, I can't wait to see how the 135 Tii turns out

The 1 series coupe is quite common these days in Stuttgart (mostly 123d's) and they're incredibly good-looking in my opinion. Small and compact, yet also very macho in appearance. If that car were human it would be a very small, athletic and muscular man. I know chicks dig that sort of stuff.

Strangely, I find the new Mitsubishi Lancer attractive, but not in EVO form.

This shows what I have always said, that AWD can make a handling/cornering difference even on dry pavement. However, AWD does add weight and drag.....which, along with the BMW's torque peak at only 1400 RPM, explains the BMW blowing the Evo's doors off from 0-60 in a straight line and shorter stopping distance.

And the Evo's grille? Please................

The Evo X is a disgrace to its lineage....Evo iX would smoke it readily with stock clutch and stock "launch control" that is incorporated in there.
