Agree that it's an expensive lesson... even with carfax... some things can turn up later, that don't necessarily show up on current report pulls, just due to timing of certain incident report releases, etc.

I've had friends check carfaxes that are clean, only to look at teh same car a few months later with another carfax pulled that shows new information.
