Default Does BMW have something like onstar?

My younger brother took my parents 2004 745 without their permission, and they cant find him or the car, and they dont want to report it stolen just yet. Does BMW have some kind of service that could help locate the car?

Call 888-333-6118
That's the number for stolen vehicle recovery (they can disable the car and/or offer tracking), remote door unlocking, etc... the number you call whenever you don't have access to the inside of the car itself.

I could be wrong but I think it's actually ran by the same call center and network that does GM Onstar.

What do they need to activate it, a vin number or just plate numbers?

Yes a 2004 7 would definitely have it.

When they first got the vehicle (assuming they got it new) they would have been instructed by the dealer go through an initial registration process that would include their names and an account password.

If they didn't go through that then I'm not sure what's required for proof of ownership.

Hey guys... the 2004 didn't have it, so BMW couldn't help us.

This is a long story, but the car was actually purchased for him by my parents, on the condition that he will work and go back college... Last year he dropped out of college, and hasn't been doing anything. So then he got a job about 3-4 month ago, my parents bought him the car, and a few weeks later he quit the job and hasnt been doing anything but smoking pot for the last couple months. So my parents took away his keys on saturday, and yesterday he called up my mom, asked her to tell him where the keys are, suposedly he was going to find a job. She told him where the keys were, and he disappeared with the car.

Its a bit late for a parental beat down at this point, he's going to be turning 22 next week. The way its going, he's probably gonna end up celebrating his birthday in a prison.

I would, but my mom doesn't wanna do it yet. If the kid doesn't learn his lesson now, its only gonna get worse.
