engine compartment spied!

That's the direct-injection 3.6L V6 which puts out 305hp in the Cadillac CTS.
Pretty impressive for the lowest model in the Camaro range.

Well a shame they didn't build this 10 years ago. With gas prices, it will sell for about 6 months and then plummet after..

Well, that's what happens when you have a company run by a bunch of bean counters. At least it's better late than never.

You should see the Mercedes R series engine. Half its engine is really under the windshield.

I agree 110%. It took them way too long to get this car to market.

I looked at the pictures and honestly yawned, but when I first saw it in Transformers without the Camo, I swore I would buy on...now, not so much.

GM is gonna ruin the reputation of this car, as nice as it looks I can't bare to see the numerous base model camaros driving around that should just not be, they don't need to make a car everyone can afford, just make it for the performance crowd

That is actually a good thing. Better balance. When you can get the engine weight as far back behind the front axle as possible, that technically becomes a mid engine. Not a rear mounted mid engine but front mid engine. I believe the mid engine just calls for the engine to be between the axles. Either way, putting the engine as far back as possible is a good thing for chassis balance.

When I was growing up, the car everyone wanted including myself with a IROC Z. This was during the late 80s. Of course we all wanted the V8 version and we very well knew about the tons of V6 versions running around. Personally, I don't think a V6 version will ruin the cars reputation. Its been that way with this car for decades so nothing will change now.

A weak V6 would dillute the car.

A powerful V6, will work just like the 3.5L did for the GS350/430/460

The V6 in the Camaro was never powerful before. What's the difference? It didn't weaken the iconic Camaro name and image then, why now?

Wasn't GM supposed to be moving to the V6 in the Camaro/Firebird/Corvette after the Buick Grand National came out?
