i went to test one out to see if liked it enough to buy it. answer is: i love the power but thats it. the car didnt have the same perks like my GS. the interior is pretty plain with the exception of the adjustable side seat bolsters, massagers and a few other things. suspension was tight and steering was tight the instrument panel is pretty boring...it has a clock in there! given my GS doesnt have the power of the AMG, i couldnt bring myself to buy the E55 regardless of the power. i love the interior in my GS much more than the E55 interior. for a car that cost twice the amount, other than raw hp, i couldnt do it.... maybe i was expecting too much. now if lexus would get it all together and make a super sedan, id buy that for sure. i was looking for something with the same luxury feel with massive amount of hp.

i say upgrade to a ls460

 

hmm... if both cars have the same low miles, i'll trade my car for the E55. Just something about that car that I absolutely drool over.

 

BMW M5 might be a better choice.

 

i would've taken the amg...sure power won't get you hapiness, but you will get there faster

 

the isf is too small for my taste.

the ls460..nice but i wanted something that can pull harder.

the GS and the AMG is not an even trade. id have to cough up atleast 20K more... i guess i was looking for 20K more bells and whistles.

i dont like the new M5

true, it can get me there faster but i was looking for the best of both worlds. i like my bells and whistles..

 

the m5 has power, but the interior is horrible at best, far worse than e55/63 imho.

i actually quite like the e63 interior. granted some stuff are weird (nav, and that clock), but if i have the money, i would get it over the gs myself

now if we have gs-f

 

Maybe you should take a look at the E63 AMG it is pretty crazy power......and the interior is actually not bad

 

Interior isn't that bad, just the COMAND system and awkward clock takes some getting used too. My best friend has an 06 E55, and it is one AMAZING car.

 

i think if the car has the type of i-drive system (like their new s class), then i would like it even more (given we won't see touch screen on mb...)

the clock on the cluster, that's just weird for sure

the one i drove has pana roof, that's so awesome. and of course, the power and handling, those just put big smile on my face

 

AMG E is just an amazing car.

im going to ponder about this some more and maybe go try a e63 over the weekend. there were no e63 on the lot where i was at. the clock is wierd for me... its all so different to me making me not want the change.

 

the clock is definitely weird (in a silly way). i looked pretty disgusted when i did the test drive

try the e63. you might not be as impressed about the power though coz' of the less tq, that's what most amg owners talk about. but i kind of like the exhaust roar more on the e63
