I know people speculated that the coupe and sedan M3 prices were unexpectedly low because of the IS-F offering a lot of car at its base price of 56K. I wasnt buying that excuse. But now we see the M3 convertible prices almost 10K more expensive than the coupe!!!
Now I'm starting to think others might have a point. Did the M3 coupe/convertible always have this large of a price gap?? The M3 convertible has no direct competition as of yet, so they might as well charge as much as they can for it.

that's a lot more expensive for the conv isn't it?!
but then looking at the base price for the 335i e92 and e93, we also see a 9k difference already, so maybe that's just the trend.
can't believe the hard top is that much more expensive

It does look like a poor implementation of the folding hard top.
All of the various lines and cuts on the M3 also don't help the look. IMO it should definitely look more clean than it does.

I think if I get a M3 I will get the coupe and not the Convertible because it cost way more and I do not like the way it looks with the top up it looks a little bit off to me. I am thinking of getting one in Black or White and with Red interior for sure that will look SEXY!!!!

I've seen several 335i convertibles with the top up and it looks way better than that pic of the M3 convertible. To me the hood bulge, side skirts, etc., make it look worse than the 335i which to me looks slender and great.
i don't like the conv style (compared to coupe) coz' the roof line, it doesn't look as smooth, slick, and aggressive as the coupe
given the slight price difference, i would easily pick the coupe over the sedan
