Meh. Nice and all, but we need a convertible with a backseat. I'd love it to be a Lexus (and a badge-engineered Solara would do nicely), but it looks like that won't happen. Oh well, good for somebody I suppose....

I think it'll be awhile before there's a Lexus model that's not available with a gas/diesel engine. I could be wrong, but I don't see a "prius" on the horizon at the moment.

what back seats? once the coupe/ convertible arrives, the IS-F coupe will probably join the line up a year after. Boy when the ISx50 range starts widening itll be really nice

No

There have been a lot of people who think anything with two doors will be the next SC. LF-A was the first with this and now the IS coupe. Truth is that both the LF-A and IS coupe will be completely different products from the SC, which is on a 10 year life cycle and won't be redesigned until 2011 or so.

wow, they're keeping the SC for that long? I thought they were long overdue for a new one considering it's the only model that's not completely L-Finess yet.

Makes sense though considering how well the G35s sell.

Bingo.

Lexus designers again, don't want to touch up the SC much. They are happy with the design.

I think that might be an IS-F convertible. There's a badge on the front fender, it looks like there's two mufflers and there's a bit of hood bulge visible.

I enlarged the photo a bit, take a look.

my 350 has a bulge and thats a side marker. The thing that blinks when you turn on your turning signal.

The last SC ran a ten year life span, it seems they have the same plans for the current car. Oh well...

Yeah, you're totally right. I thought that's what it was, but none of the IS images on Lexus.com had side markers, so I started jumping to conclusions.

It IS possible to make a hardtop convertible without having zero leg room and resorting to a huge rear trunk lid, just look at the 3er coupe.

Reserving final judgement until it actually comes out but so far it gets a big "meh" from me.
