The Range Rover is the most unreliable SUV sold.

Better question to ask is, "what's good with them?" The answer is, not much. The Exhaust, Engine, and Transmission (all of which were made by BMW) have gotten good marks from Consumer Reports as far as problems go. EVERY SINGLE other aspect of the car is "much less reliable than average". Land Rover as a brand has twice as many problems per vehicle as the 2nd least reliable brand, Hummer. And the Range Rover is tied with the Discovery for the biggest POS they've ever made.

The QX4 (Nissan Pathfinder) is a SPECTACULARLY reliable vehicle. Very minor fuel system problems reported in '01 and '03, top marks across the board from '98-'03 otherwise. Very solid choice. Its replacement, the QX56 (Nissan Armada), is unfortunately one of the worst vehicles on the road, so avoid it like the plague.

Close. In some ways it plays second-fiddle to the Mercedes M-Class and Infiniti QX-56.

I agree the QX4 is a solid vehicle at a good price. But its replacement is NOT the QX56. The QX4 is built on the smaller Nissan truck platform shared by the Pathfinder, Frontier, and XTerra. The QX56 is much larger and shares its platform with the Nissan Titan and Armada.

Range Rover.... Dude do you know who owns LAnd Rover, Jaguar, and Aston Martin???

FORD

I like the QX4s alot. I have driven a few of them and they seem solid to me. They might be a little top heavy, but if your a very evasive driver then you dont have many worries other that an accident...which I hope doesn't happen.

yeah I really like the looks of the range but I think we've all experienced car troubles and if thats the case I might as well stick with the sure bet. I just have to pick a color I think silver is the best.

That's 100% accurate. When the Range Rover was redesigned, Land Rover was owned by BMW. Shortly thereafter, it was sold to Ford. The current Range Rover styling was completely designed and built by BMW. Matter of fact, since the model that you are looking for is an 03-04, there is a high probability that if you were to look at the backsides of the brake calipers you will see the BMW propeller stamped on it. I personally like the truck and have a friend with the earlier MY (I think it's an 03) and he's had VERY few issues with it.
