*which truck? which color?*
But if you were to look at another model like the Freelander...then you could see rebadged Ford Escape.
no I'm only interested in the range rover, I just love the styling of that truck.
Yes, it has the new body style. For the most part, it's been problem free. There have been a few things here and there, but nothing anymore major than things we see wrong with our very own Lexus vehicles. One of the MAJOR issues that he told me about was the compressor system for the air ride suspension. Something malfunctioned on it overnight and he came out to his truck and the body was virtually sitting on the floor of his garage (the air system didn't hold the air overnight). Other than that (that I know of) the truck has spent more time at his house than at the dealer. Every time the issue comes up on these forums I get crap because I actually would buy a Ranger Rover... but, I may be in the extreme minority.

If you are willing to (maybe) put up with frequent dealer visits for warranty issues, it is an enormously capable and versatile vehicle. It has been widely used in Third-World desert and jungle conditions for many years, though in simpler and less-expensive versions.
Qx4 is nothing but a rebadged Pathfinder.
Even a 04+ 4runner is nicer than it.
LX470 is the best bet since you can afford a Range Rover. I haven't drive anything nicer and reliable than LX470, it has everything you ask for from an SUV minus power.
If I want more sport, X5 4.4 or FX45 are good choices too.

yeah I agree but I think "think" I'm going towards the car route again looking into 2004 M3, but wow they are expensive to upgrade!!!! this insurance check is almost 2 months old now!! it's burning a hole in my pocket.(bank).

I'm not a huge fan of the Range Rover just because of the "snob factor" it has.
No, I don't have any grey Poupon. See you at the Polo field, chap?
I mostly see female cellphonistas with tiny dogs and HUGE sunglasses driving these rigs. No thanks.
If you're just leasing it or keeping it short-term reliability on either vehicle shouldn't be that much of an issue since it'll have some type of warranty.
The question is- do you need an SUV? Do you live in the mountains or a snowy resort area? Or is it a fashionable automotive statement? Keep in mind, the V8 powered rigs are not noted for anything approaching decent gas mileage.
