Quote: lol - I wouldn't be caught dead in a RAV-4 that only an '80s GM executive would be proud of its interior.

The CR-V interior is excellent for its price point.

bit, I would rather be an 80's GM executive, living today at the age of 653, driving a GM Caddy Cimmeron, with some hubcap spinners, than be caught in the passenger seat let alone driving the CR-V, which has all the testosterone of a chihuahua that likes to hump chihauahuas of the same sex. The chihuahua also looks better.

I cannot believe that ugly vehicle is the best selling SUV in America. It truly leaves me puzzled. Then again, my confidence in the general public lowers with each day I go out.

I'd rather hump a chihuahua than drive a Rav-4 with or without spinners.

Cheap, smooth, roomy, GREAT interior, highly reliable, Honda brand, ok front and rear looks - no brainer. I agree with you the weird sweeping back pillar is pretty hideous and a failed attempt to make it look aerodynamic though.

As we once said in a customer service dept I ran - you can never underestimate the customer, lol

I like the 1st CR-V, the 2nd one got ugly quick and this latest one, it makes puke.

No that's the CR-V's long lost concept vehicle that Honda doesn't talk about much.

Dude, you guys are arguing about which ugly girl looks better. Unless you are drunk, does it really matter?

PS. Both interiors look pretty decent though. To continue with the ugly girl analogy, the interiors are like their personalities. That is what really matters right? I give the CR-V interior a slight edge.

Might have to wait for the 2010 model release to order one here. Gotta love the no nonsense Australian-influenced approach to a potential consumer problem.

"...Toyota has again been hit by an embarassing fault in a new model, with all Australian dealers being ordered to stop selling the new V6-powered RAV4 compact.

The RAV4 V6 launched only a fortnight ago to join the four-cylinder model launched in early 2006. A problem relating to the engine follows shortly after Toyota Australia's Aurion TRD resumed sales in October after an investigation into an engine failure..."

It looks better than the current one, but CR-V still wins in the look department.

I think it is the build quality of the interiors we are talking about here - the RAV4 (4cyl model) was just terrible.

That I agree. I never test drove one but last year I did sit in one at the Toyota dealership while checking out all the other Toyota cars. Way too much cheap feeling plastic for me. In fact, if you search some of those old posts talking about the Rav 4 when it first came out, I always mentioned I loved the HP in 3.5L engine, but didn't like the interior feel. But, that is just me. A lot of people seem to like it.
